It was her third time, so the pressure was on and final few months at uni - but your practice question just gave her the confidence and then made the test easy. However, my boyfriend is a great believer in online tutorials and he found your material. I downloaded both of your packages at 10:30pm and had to set my test at 12:30pm the next day. After working with your tutorials for 3 hours I passed first time and I couldn't believe it. Thank you so much for your materials, I really don't think I would have passed without them. The mental arithmetic explanations especially broke down into easy steps what I needed to do. As soon as you explained it was "of course!" but I think I would have spent ages trying to struggle through and not getting the answers in the time limit. I will definitely recommend your site Cath, April 2012 In February 2012 Satchet emailed... "I have failed the QTS numeracy twice with 8 & 6 marks needed to pass. I bought your mental arithmetic resources and have revised over the last 2/3 days" Unfortunately Satchet needed 4 more marks to pass this time. Late in March Satchet emailed again... "I took the numeracy test again and needed 5 more marks to pass. I think I need your coaching skills" We arranged to meet and Satchet drove the 140 miles from Bristol to Toddington for a two hour session on Monday afternoon and then back again! He took the test the next day at 7pm. At 8pm I received an email... "I took the test today and passed! I am so overwhelmed with excitement. Thank you so much for your support. It has been a real privilege working with David, especially using the materials he has designed specifically for the QTS. I have had lessons with another tutor, read all the books, done the test and failed and was beginning to think I was doomed to break the record of 37 times to pass! But after just 2 lessons with him and practising his materials at home my confidence began to grow. I went in for a test and was 5 marks off (I think the nerves got to me) then I had one more lesson and took the test again. I went in with no expectations and applied the strategies David recommended and I passed! I'm someone who has always struggled with Maths and had to have a tutor to get me through my G.C.S.E, even then it took 3 times to get my C! I must say what a huge relief it is to have passed and now I can be free of that burden for the rest of the year! I am on a two term GTP course and although my teaching is going really well, my numeracy test practice is failing. I am really struggling and have today scored 4/28 on my practice. I seem to have two main problems: 1. Processing what is being asked - especially fractions and percentages 2. Understanding the correct mathematical calculation to do I would be happy to travel from Essex. I replied ... "Your concerns will start to disappear as you do more example qts questions. Aim to concentrate on the on-screen part of the test to gain the majority of your marks. In theory if you got 100% in that section (16/16) you'll only need 1 mark from mental maths (1/12.)" Andrea bought the on-line material before doing some 1 to 1 coaching just before Christmas. A few weeks later she emailed... Thank you so much for your help before Christmas. I passed all three skills tests. On the 22nd I took all three and passed literacy and ICT first time. I failed numeracy but only by one mark. The earliest I could rebook was the 28th and involved a trip into London. I found the test much harder but was delighted to have passed! Thank you so much again. I really don't think that without your help and downloadable resources that I would have passed. Have a good Christmas Julie, Dec 2011 Lorraine here from Ireland,just mailing you to tell you the good news I finally passed today and couldn't be more happier!!! Thank you again for all your help. Note: Lorraine was getting desperate having tried for a long time to pass the test. Something radical was called for! We talked on the phone and then she flew from Ireland, (luckily easyjet flies to Luton) using trains and taxis to get to me in Toddington. I felt even more motivated to help her pass and coached her for several hours over a few days. Half way through the coaching she took the test locally, but failed by 1 mark! I told her she must not give up and was sure she would pass. She went back to Ireland and I waited tentatively until I got her email. Yippee. November 2011 I have been struggling with maths for most of my life in one way or another. I took my maths GCSE later in life and then when I thought I had done my final chapter with maths- I found out that I would need maths QTS to become a teacher. I found Maths Made Easy on the internet as I was looking for a maths QTS tutor. David is brilliant and can definitely get you through the test- even when you are struggling ! There is nothing worse or as frustrating when you have to keep taking the test and to receive the paper telling you , that you have yet again failed- Maths made easy will help you to overcome this! David got my confidence back and taught the maths I needed to know for QTS in a positive, effective and consistent way in which I could understand the questions better and find new ways to approach the mental arithmetic section and the statistical part of the paper. I fully recommend David to pass maths QTS! I failed the maths by 11 marks on Saturday! I knew it was a no no. Definitely need to book a tutorial over Half term as I am running out of time and need to pass:( (23rd May 2011) I failed by 5 marks. (June 3rd 2011) grr... I missed it again by 2 marks. Can I book another tutorial asap. Just did a tda practice online test and tried our strategy. Got 6/12 mental arithmethic and 13/16 for the graphs and data analysis!? This may work you know if i'm lucky! Dont really wanna tell my dad and get his hopes up but thats a nice confidence boost. (21 july) I passed my maths test! As an experienced teacher (without QTS) I joined a teacher training course at the very end of the academic year, with just a term and my summer holidays to get through the work and tests. I took my maths test today - just a week from the final deadline, and am so pleased I discovered your video download last night to prepare me for it! I was successful in passing the numeracy qts skills test, I went through a torrid time but I focused on it and passed the test on 24th August '09. Since having tuition sessions with David I have learnt to be much quicker at mental mathematics and have learnt new strategies for solving a range of mathematical problems quickly; rather than using the old fashion route taught at school many years ago!
